Self Rescue & Problem Solving
This course will teach you how to get out of those tricky situations that should never arise but all too often do. This course will cover self rescue, escaping the system, emergency first aid and how to look after an injured partner, use of prussiks, abseil retreat, hoisting and lowering. If you have any doubt how you would react in an emergency on the crag then this is the course to put your mind at ease.

Climbers have a fantastic reputation as being able to sort themselves and each other out when in a tight spot. This course aims to give you the skills and underlying principals to avoid things going wrong in the first instance, coupled with what to do if it does “hit the fan”.

Locking off a belay With all the best intentions leaders can and do fall, seconds do climb past runners and they do fall off during a tricky traverse, abseil ropes jam and the weather does change making retreat the only option. The problems a climber may encounter are many and varied but a few simple skills practiced in a safe environment may make all the difference in the future. A packed days instruction on the crag will cover everything you need to know to make your climbing safer.
