Keswick Mountain Adventures is a team of highly qualified and extremely motivated outdoor enthusiasts who love to pass on their skills and knowledge to others. We've a fantastic pedigree, with over 37 years experience in teaching in the outdoors between us. We all live in or around Keswick and have outstanding local knowledge of the area with it's classics and it's hidden gems, it's popular and it's tranquil. We work hard to provide you with the outdoor experience you want - although some people might not call it work - given that we get to spend all day doing the things we love. Our aim is to give you as much enjoyment in the outdoors as we get, now that is a tall order. Gnash
Gnash Baxter - just mention the word "climbing" to Gnash and you will get a smile. He has been scaling rock and ice with a passion for 24 years and his enthusiasm is infectious. Gnash has ascended mountains and crags in New Zealand, Africa, France, Spain, Italy and all over the UK. His experience and dedication to the sport has helped him to gain his MIA and Winter Mountain Leader qualifications and his outgoing personality has made him something of a local legend. He's been instructing for 14 years and firmly believes that everyone should enjoy and respect the mountain environment and he loves helping people get the most out of their outdoor experiences. Mike Norbury is an all year round climber and mountaineer whose major passion is hard traditional rock climbing. Most recent proud ascent was "Daylight Robbery" on Reecastle Crag in Borrowdale graded E6, 6C. Mike is based in the upper Borrowdale valley, south of Keswick, and has been climbing and mountaineering for 17 years and instructing for 10 years. He has attained his MIA and is a seasoned campaigner who has excellent local knowledge of the Lake District and a large number of high grade climbs to his credit. Mike also is a full member of AMI with full public liability insurance. Chris
Chris Higgins has been an instructor in Keswick for the past 13 years and has a high level of qualifications and experience in instructing outdoor adventure activities. Chris is an MIA and has climbed throughout the UK, France, Spain and in New Zealand. His passion for the mountains both summer and winter enabled him to gain his Winter Mountain Leader award and he is highly experienced in leading people in the mountains in all weathers, day or night, rain or shine, and as a member of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team he gets to do this quite alot. Chris is also fanatical about his canoeing, he's a BCU level IV open canoe coach and a level III kayak coach. In his list of achievements Chris has paddled the remote 500 mile Missinaibi River in Ontario from source to sea in 20 days as well as many shorter canoe journeys throughout the UK. Chris is a full member of AMI and BCU with full public liability insurance.
